چکیده
Targeting drug delivery to hair follicles is valuable treat conditions such as alopecia’s and acne, this shunt route may also allow deeper skin layers the systemic circulation by avoiding intact stratum corneum. Here, we investigated effects of nanoparticle surface chemistry on their into synthesizing fluorescent thiolated silica nanoparticles functionalizing with 750 Da 5000 methoxypolyethylene glycol maleimide (PEG). The stability in homogenate was verified before tape stripping porcine-dosed tissue showed distribution free dye different skin. Analysis microscopic images sections revealed penetration functionalized PEG appendages whereas stayed were removed stripping. Nanoparticles penetrated compared counterparts Da. PEGylation can thus enhance targeted nanoparticulates follicles.

Silica nanoparticle supported lipid bilayers for gene delivery.
Silica nanoparticle supported cationic lipids can effectively bind plasmid DNAs and transfect mammalian cells with an efficiency that depends on both the particle size and lipid composition; here the gene delivery and expression process has been confirmed by confocal fluorescence microscopy.
متن کاملProstanoids and Hair Follicles: Implications for Therapy of Hair Disorders.
Prostanoids, including prostaglandins (PGs) and thromboxane A2 (TXA2), are a family of lipid-derived autacoids that modulate many physiological systems and pathological contexts. Prostanoids are generated by sequential metabolism of arachidonic acid, catalysed by cyclo-oxygenase, to PGH2, which is then converted to PGD2, PGE2, PGF2α, PGI2 and TXA2, catalysed by their specific synthases. Recent ...

The pilosebaceous unit is a complex structure that undergoes a specific growth cycle and comprises a few important drug targeting sites. For example, drugs can be targeted to the bulge region with stem cells or to the sebaceous glands. Interest in pilosebaceous units is directed towards their utilization as reservoirs for localized therapy and also as a transport pathway for systemic drug deliv...
متن کاملSize-dependent penetration of nanoemulsions into epidermis and hair follicles: implications for transdermal delivery and immunization
Nanoemulsions have been widely applied to dermal and transdermal drug delivery. However, whether and to what depth the integral nanoemulsions can permeate into the skin is not fully understood. In this study, an environment-responsive dye, P4, was loaded into nanoemulsions to track the transdermal translocation of the nanocarriers, while coumarin-6 was embedded to represent the cargoes. Particl...

Trans-follicular (TF) vaccination has recently been studied as a unique route for non-invasive transcutaneous vaccination. The present study aims to extensively characterize the immune responses triggered by TF vaccination using ovalbumin loaded chitosan-PLGA (poly lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles without skin pre-treatment to preserve skin integrity. The impact of formulation composition...
